We execute a unique brain muscle reeducation program to restore motor neuron function

Dr. Bernard Brucker, founder of the Biofeedback Laboratory at the University of Miami’s School of Medicine, developed an internationally recognized and evidence based method called the Brucker Biofeedback Method. This method employs precise techniques to restore lost functions in individuals with neural impairment.

Brucker Biofeedback is a subtle and innovative training technique used to enhance mind-body control. By providing subjects with external audio or visual feedback of finest nervous signals that reach the muscles and using electrodes to sense the signals, biofeedback provides a means for identifying, strengthening, and using these signals.

During the therapy sessions we basically work on gaining or improving the patient’s control over his/her muscles. This is done by making him/her conscious of the connection between brains and muscles.

• Through exercises patients will work on activating the muscles in the right way and to the right extent. All this with the purpose to gain or regain functions which are missing or have been lost.
• We make the connection between brains and muscles visible and/or audible by placing surface electrodes on the relevant parts of the body
• In this way patients receive continuous and instant feedback on the progress made. This feedback provides a very powerful stimulus for patients to persevere and reach their goals.

Dr Brucker (1946 – 2008) was a charismatic professional with great love and respect for his patients, young and old. Aiming to improve the lives of those with neurological motor impairment, his innovative Brucker Biofeedback Method bridged the gap between neuroscience and rehabilitation and demonstrated many significant and surprising results.

Our Brucker Biofeedback Center in Curacao proudly carries on his legacy, helping hundreds of patients: local as well as from abroad.
